John Scippa

John Scippa has devoted more than 30 years to the research and teaching of Communications and Media Studies. Currently a full professor in Connecticut's Community College System, John's expertise has allowed him to teach a variety of courses, ranging from Interpersonal Communication to TV Production, and Media and Film Studies. Many of John's students have gone on to successful professional careers in film and television.

John's love of film history and film's relationship to the times and culture that has produced it (Film as History) has been the inspiration for numerous film festivals and retrospectives he has produced. He particularly enjoys writing and teaching film courses with a focus on history and the overall American experience in film. With a keenly developed sense of and passion for clear, focused and concise interpersonal communications, John is in high demand as a consultant on customer relations, product presentation, promotional design and new product rollout to national and international companies.

John's extensive experiences in and out of the academic setting have broadened his understanding of learning styles and in particular his appreciation of the role that culture and environment have on the public's perception of news and entertainment. These skills and talents he now brings to bear for the Company, its TV and film concepts and the professional relationships the Company fosters as an independent producer.

John holds a BA Degree in Broadcasting & Communications from the University of Detroit and a Masters Degree in Educational Media and Media Studies from Fairfield University.
